Job Summary

As a key member of our culinary team, the Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at The Ritz-Carlton Tenerife Abama and contribute to the success of our food and beverage operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate production needs to kitchen personnel daily.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation.
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and culinary concepts.
  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff to achieve exceptional results.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or a degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a culinary or food and beverage role, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional quality and service, with a focus on attention to detail and consistency.
