Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary professional to lead our global training efforts as the Senior Commercial Training Director. This pivotal role will oversee the design, planning, and execution of training programs for Almirall's commercial teams. The successful candidate will possess a thorough understanding of the biopharmaceutical industry and its customers to ensure effective training delivery.


Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Training Leadership:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive global training strategy aligned with Almirall's business objectives and values.
  • Drive continuous improvement of training programs to meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Develop innovative instructional design techniques to optimize the training experience and meet adaptive learning principles.
  • Measure training performance and KPIs to evaluate trainings and inform future training design.
  • Secure adequate resources and budget to execute the Training strategy at global and local levels.

Curriculum Development:
  • Define key competences for sales teams and trainers to be successful in training design and implementation.
  • Oversee creation of training curricula covering various disciplines, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with subject stakeholders to develop relevant and engaging content.

Performance Metrics and Collaboration:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for training programs and measure their impact on employee performance and organizational goals.
  • Cultivate collaboration with department heads and key stakeholders to understand organizational goals and ensure training programs align with strategic objectives.

Budget Management:
  • Determine the commercial training budget and prioritize its distribution among markets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of training or related experience in the biopharmaceutical or health-related industry.
  • 3-5 years of management experience leading a team.
  • Pharma Sales or marketing experience, preferably in Biologics and Specialty business.
  • Expertise in training methods and programs.
  • Solid leadership experience driving global strategic, operational, and tactical direct and cross-functional team efforts.

Specific Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish. German, French, or Italian is valuable.
  • Excellent communication, coordination agility, and collaboration skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of trends and changes in the market, customers, and technologies.
  • Strong leadership to impact and influence.
