EMEA Electrophysiology Customer Education Specialist (m/f/d)
Role Overview
Boston Scientific is dedicated to the development and leadership of high-quality educational initiatives for both our team members and healthcare professionals.
The Electrophysiology (EP) division is a rapidly expanding segment of our Rhythm Management sector, where effective training and education for our staff and healthcare professionals are crucial for technology adoption and ensuring patient safety.
The primary focus of this position is to strategize, design, and implement in-house training programs centered around 3D Mapping and FARAVIEW technologies for both field personnel and clients. This involves gathering necessary information to create training programs, developing educational materials, crafting course content, determining instructional methods, and coordinating the creation of training resources. The role also includes conducting training sessions and establishing criteria to assess the effectiveness of these educational activities. Continuous updates to lesson plans are essential to align with evolving training needs and to ensure that technical information remains current.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee internal and customer education initiatives by executing strategies, achieving objectives, and managing logistics while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
- Identify the most effective delivery methods for various learners and curricula, creating blended learning programs that fulfill educational goals. Design programs that incorporate a suitable mix of remote, face-to-face, and e-learning formats.
- Work collaboratively on enhancing our digital platforms and Learning Management System, identifying requirements and utilizing these platforms across different curricula.
- Design, develop, and monitor e-learning programs that complement blended curricula, ensuring the application of best practices and insights across the Medical Education Team.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key customers, both internal and external, acting as a liaison between influential educational leaders and Boston Scientific initiatives.
- Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders and build robust networks within the organization.
- Identify, collaborate with, and manage relevant resources (such as vendor partnerships and internal departments) to ensure that meetings and events achieve their objectives.
- Define, monitor, and manage budgets while implementing cost-saving strategies, understanding their implications for overall business management.
- Develop program metrics aligned with the educational objectives established for each program and curriculum.
- Assess program impact, reevaluate objectives and outcomes, and plan for ongoing enhancements.
- Stay informed about industry standards and trends related to responsibilities and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Create a professional development plan in collaboration with your direct supervisor.
- Ensure awareness and adherence to applicable standard operating procedures to meet and uphold all quality and regulatory commitments of Boston Scientific.
- Utilize tools and programs across the organization effectively.
- Ensure consistency with Boston Scientific branding guidelines.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Education, Customer Programs, or Field Support.
- Experience and expertise in EP, 3D Mapping, PFA, and Single Shot field support (minimum 3 years).
- A background in Training and Medical Education is highly valued (2 years).
- Experience in developing e-learning programs and digital content is highly regarded.
- A university degree or equivalent is required, with substantial expertise in Rhythm Management and EP (disease, product, clinical).
- A collaborative team player with a focus on fostering teamwork across the organization.
- Ability to generate and advocate for innovative ideas and approaches.
- Strong customer orientation, catering to both internal and external clients.
- Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
- Demonstrates integrity, adaptability, and agility.
- Ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple priorities and focusing on key tasks.
- Strong didactic, presentation, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
