Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing our busy kitchen, creating and executing top-notch food, and ensuring statutory compliance in all food and drink related areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the kitchen team, ensuring a smooth-running operation and high-quality food production.
- Create and execute menus that showcase Mediterranean cuisine, with a focus on freshness and provenance of ingredients.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to develop new recipes and techniques, and to maintain high standards of presentation and flavor.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP protocols, cost control, and inventory management.
- Lead and manage a multicultural team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and high standards of delivery.
Requirements:
- 2+ years' experience as an Executive Sous Chef or Banquet Chef in a busy, bustling environment.
- Proven track record of managing kitchen teams and ensuring high-quality food production.
- Strong knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine and ability to create innovative menus.
- Experience with HACCP protocols, cost control, and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work positively and collaboratively with others.
