Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Medical Communications. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for securing and retaining business for PPD through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities directed at decision-makers and decision-influencers at existing and new clinical sponsors.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies to secure new business opportunities and expand existing relationships with clients.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Proposal Development: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive proposals that showcase PPD's expertise and value proposition.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with PPD's goals and objectives.
  • Data Analysis: Gather and analyze market data to identify trends and opportunities, informing sales strategies and tactics.


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will require:



Education and Experience



  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., business, marketing, life sciences).
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.


Skills and Qualifications



  • Scientific Background: Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, including market trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate contracts and agreements that benefit both parties.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data to inform sales strategies and tactics.

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
