Job Overview:

The Group Sales Director is a critical role responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic solicitation strategies, maximizing room, beverage, and food sales, as well as meeting space bookings. This position oversees the demand for groups business and is accountable for the process from inquiry to conversion.

Key Responsibilities:

* Directs and manages group and banquet sales activities to achieve maximum revenue potential through effective communication with clients and during site inspections
* Recruits, directs, trains, and counsels a team of Groups Sales managers, executives, coordinators, a Sales Analyst, and Trainees
* Leads weekly groups' sales meetings and participates in required sales-related meetings
* Collaborates with the Director of Sales and Director of Convention Services to design HID's for vital processes involving groups and sales
* Works closely with the Director of Revenue Management to set pricing for group requests
* Provides quality service to customers by working with other departments within the hotel
* Attends trade shows, customer events, fam trips, and local industry meetings
* Sets objectives for the groups and event sales team following the Marriott Sales Incentive Plan
* Maintains knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers

Requirements:

* A minimum of 4 years' experience in direct sales, preferably in a leadership role
* Proven passion for sales and service
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to work and deliver results under pressure
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
* Knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering & PMS systems, OneSource (SFA-web) is desirable
* EU work permit is required
* Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand Spanish and English fluently

Estimated Salary: €45,000 - €60,000 per annum, depending on experience
