Overview

The Lead Sales Director for Group Business plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives. Working closely with the Director of Sales, this individual will develop and execute comprehensive solicitation strategies to cater to various group segments, encompassing rooms, beverage, food, and meeting space.

This position oversees the entire process from initial enquiry to conversion, ensuring seamless execution and exceeding revenue targets. The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of seasoned professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all group and banquet sales activities to maximize revenue potential through effective communication with clients and site inspections.
  • Recruit, direct, manage, train, and counsel the Groups Sales team, driving performance and results-oriented outcomes.
  • Participate in key meetings, including Sales Strategy, Morning Briefing, Sales Meetings, Pre-Convention Sessions, Training Sessions, and other relevant gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Management to establish pricing strategies for group requests, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs.
  • Work closely with other hotel departments to provide exceptional service and exceed customer expectations.
  • Attend trade shows, customer events, fam trips, and local industry meetings to maintain relationships and stay abreast of market developments.
  • Set objectives for the groups and event sales team, aligning with the Marriott Sales Incentive Plan and driving business growth.

Requirements

  • The Lead Sales Director for Group Business must possess a proven track record of leading high-performing sales teams, coupled with a minimum of 4 years' experience in direct sales.
  • Possess a passion for sales and delivering exceptional service under pressure.
  • Be proficient in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, in the primary language(s) used in the workplace: Spanish and English.
  • Hold good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering and PMS systems.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate performance fairly, demonstrating a deep understanding of the hotel and competitive environment.
  • Desire to participate as an integral part of a cohesive team, with a strong focus on collaboration and mutual support.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus additional benefits.
