Academic Sales Development Specialist

Sales Role Overview:
The Academic Sales Development Specialist will be responsible for increasing new and existing business by adapting ANSYS engineering simulation products and solutions into customers' research and teaching environments. This involves helping educators, researchers, and students incorporate simulation software into their curricula and projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- Promote the use of ANSYS simulation tools in universities for research and teaching activities within a designated geographical territory.
- Maximize adoption and revenue growth, and account penetration.
- Establish and maintain regular contact with key university advocates, IT groups, and Professors to ensure the sale and adoption of ANSYS tools throughout universities.
- Create a plan to develop the territory and work closely with Ansys channel partners to reach both revenue goals and adoption of Ansys in research and teaching institutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years of sales experience. Basic knowledge of company's products/services and pricing practices. Excellent selling skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Professional appearance and presentation required. At least 50% travel to universities required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering degree or equivalent training in engineering. Proven/documented sales ability. Heavy phone usage. Fluency in English is required, other language skills are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
This role offers an estimated salary of $95,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location. Additionally, the successful candidate can expect a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
