We're seeking an experienced email marketing expert to spearhead our email programs, drive strategic thinking, data analysis, technical expertise, and flawless execution to maximize our email effectiveness. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to grow Make's technical capabilities in email marketing while managing your own portfolio of email activities and supporting other teams using this channel in their projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage our overall email activity portfolio, partnering with teams across Make to ensure maximum effectiveness in responding to user needs and driving business results.
  • Develop, implement, and manage processes to deliver timely communications and campaigns to Make customers.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and owner for our tooling, advocating for technology solutions suitable for our scale and ambitions.
  • Partner with teams across Make to source and share data driving customer acquisition and retention activities' effectiveness.
  • Manage customer segmentation and targeting to personalize campaigns and make them relevant to every recipient.
  • Ensure appropriate reporting is available for email and guide the business on evaluating performance.
  • Use data to identify and drive opportunities for improvement in customer communication and engagement.
  • Develop email best practices and enable internal stakeholders to follow them.
  • Provide training and support to team members on email system usage and best practices.
  • Evaluate and maintain compliance with internal policies and data protection regulations regarding email practices.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in email marketing, demonstrating knowledge of email best practices including technical (deliverability, data, personalization), content (subject lines, messaging, design) and performance (send times, campaign cadences).
  • A strong experimental and analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making and optimize marketing efforts.
  • A proven track record in managing and growing a motivated team.
  • Proficiency in English with the ability to create compelling messaging and content.
  • Familiarity with email design and coding concepts such as HTML, CSS, Canva, Figma.
  • A passion for customer-centric marketing and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • A track record leading people, either in project teams or as a line manager.
  • Experience working within a digital workflow, partnering with content writers, designers, and technical teams to deliver effective campaigns.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and represent marketing initiatives to key stakeholders.
