**Job Description**

As our new European Crop Sciences Leader, you will be responsible for leading sales and development activities across the region. This will involve identifying existing and future market opportunities, approaching sector customers and potential customers, and leading a team of Business Development Managers.

You will attend industry events to promote our services and actively promote the image, capability and integrity of the company to our product-line customers. You will work closely with our Marketing Manager to produce publicity materials and distribute regular internal and external news through global media tools.

Key objectives include finding new business and increasing revenue activity for this sector. You will project manage new and existing clients that require improved or customized services, working closely with our Country Business Managers to provide consistent delivery of services across product lines and regions.

Collaboration with International Sales/Business Development Managers will be essential to provide a unified customer-facing global team approach to the markets. You will identify geographic service gaps and work with Global and Regional Management teams to find new opportunities and implement our full portfolio regionally, including possible acquisitions.

Investigating, promoting and implementing new service innovations is also crucial. Developing strategy and business development programs will be key to driving growth and success in this role.

**Standardization**

You will lead Regional Study Directors and Business Development Managers in continually searching for new and better ways of service delivery. Close collaboration with Technical Governance and Country Business Managers will be necessary to identify training and operational improvement opportunities in all countries of operation.

**Key Account Management**

Providing Key Account Management to designated customers who require specific management will be critical. Acting as one window/key point contact for the client when required will demonstrate your ability to deliver tailored solutions. Providing customized service proposals with team support as needed will showcase your skills in building strong relationships with clients.

Fast reaction and availability, statistical data/evaluation of results, and ability to present facts to key accounts are essential qualities for this role. Your voice will represent the client within SGS.

**Other Activities**

Other projects may be assigned by the Vice President – NR Agri Commodities/Crop Sciences from time to time.

**Qualifications**

To succeed in this role, you will need more than 10 years' experience in Crop Sciences/Consultancy/TIC Industry Commercial Roles. A degree or Master's level education is required, as well as a proven track record in commercial and sales development. Your reputation as a collaborator with Senior Industry Players is essential.

Estimated Salary: €80,000 - €120,000 per annum
