About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing our busy kitchen and creating top-notch food with a focus on quality, presentation, and flavor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the kitchen team and ensure smooth operations, including orders and deliveries, while maintaining high food hygiene standards.
- Work with our Executive Chef to develop new menu ideas and techniques that make our kitchen a creative and ever-changing environment.
- Lead multicultural teams and have a wide knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine.
- Handle different streams of operation, such as room service, all-day dining, and special events.
- Take ownership of important issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
Requirements:
- 2+ years' experience as an Executive sous chef or Banquet chef in a busy environment with a focus on freshness and provenance of ingredients.
- Experience working under HACCP protocols, able to cost control plates, and methodical in implementation.
- Ability to handle different streams of operation, such as room service, all-day dining, and special events.
- Natural leadership skills and ability to create an environment where the team can excel.
- Passion for food and a love for our flavors.
