Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Associate

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Associate to join our Expedia Media Solutions team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for driving new account acquisition and revenue growth in the TravelAds program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Acquire new business by converting existing Expedia Group customers to the Media Solutions TravelAds platform.
  2. Develop strategic territory-specific strategies to reach quarterly targets.
  3. Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to create opportunities to generate sales leads and revenue.
  4. Develop relationships with customers or their account team, including key buyers/decision makers.
  5. Develop an understanding of customer's business goals through appropriate organization channels.
  6. Recommend products, services, and insights that will meet customer needs.
  7. Complete basic account plans that outline tactics to acquire and/or maintain business.
  8. Acquire a basic understanding of how the department operates and fits into the larger organization.
  9. Guide accounts to valuable insights and present insights that can benefit account and organization.
  10. Gather data/information on potential ideas and solutions to address a business need.
  11. Exchange simple information in straightforward situations to gain the support of others.
  12. Proactively seek help from a manager when needed to address areas of difference and ensure agreements among all parties.
  13. Identify the key stakeholders in decision making for the account.
  14. Build a working knowledge of products, technologies, offerings, etc., within the scope of responsibility.
  15. Develop a broad understanding of competitors' standard products and services.
  16. Understand the importance of developing rapport and maintaining ongoing business relationships with colleagues and external customers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in English and a second language of either French, German, Spanish, or Italian.
  • Proficient communicator, predominantly on the phone.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • Growing knowledge of sales techniques.
