Job Title: Executive Sous Chef

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing our busy kitchen, creating and executing top-notch food, and ensuring the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the kitchen team, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality food production
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menu ideas and techniques
  • Ensure statutory compliance in all food and drink related areas
  • Maintain well-organized storerooms and inventories
  • Nurture and develop the talent of the kitchen team
  • Work with the Executive Chef to create a creative and ever-changing kitchen environment

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience as a Sous Chef in a busy, bustling environment
  • Proven track record managing large kitchen teams
  • Natural leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example and create a positive team environment
  • Passion for food and a love for our particular flavors
  • Methodical and process-driven approach to tasks, with the ability to work flexibly and calmly to meet deadlines
  • Ability to take ownership of important issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions
