About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona, a luxury urban resort. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing our busy kitchen, creating and executing top-notch food, and ensuring the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Develop and implement menus, recipes, and cooking techniques to meet the highest quality standards.
- Lead and manage a team of chefs, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as statutory requirements.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to create a creative and ever-changing culinary environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience as a Sous Chef in a busy environment, with a focus on freshness and provenance of ingredients.
- Proven track record of managing large kitchen teams and leading by example.
- Passion for food and a love for creating memorable dining experiences.
- Methodical and process-driven approach to tasks, with the ability to work flexibly and calmly to meet deadlines.
- Ability to take ownership of important issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
