Job Description

At Faraday & Gen Re, we are part of Berkshire Hathaway Inc, one of the largest and most influential reinsurance companies in the world. We pride ourselves on delivering carefully designed (re)insurance solutions to meet our clients' needs. Operating across the globe in major reinsurance markets, we have 2000+ employees across 40 markets and recently established a European MGA to support local business development.

Main Purpose:

We offer an excellent opportunity for a Strategic Business Development Manager based in our Madrid Office. This position provides the chance to work within a highly experienced team across Europe while starting a business operation for Faraday in the Spanish market. As the successful candidate, you will lead sales and client relationships for the Spanish market.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and price individual risk and programme facultative reinsurance with adherence to departmental underwriting philosophy, rules and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients at the underwriting and management level, assuming responsibility for assigned client relationship.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients directly, demonstrating a deep knowledge of contracts and policy forms.

Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this role is €85,000.
