Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join the pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of the housekeeping department, you will be responsible for supervising the overall operation of the housekeeping team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing daily operations and department management, including third-party vendors.
  2. Monitor and control departmental budgets and financial performance.
  3. Ensure all departmental service standards and sequences of service are upheld.
  4. Collaborate with housekeeping partners on a daily basis to ensure seamless operations.
  5. Maintain a close relationship with the Front Office and Engineering Teams.
  6. Address guest issues promptly and provide excellent customer service.
  7. Manage inventory levels and control costs for supplies.
  8. Support staffing requirements and manage employee performance.
  9. Plan, assign work, and establish performance goals for employees.
  10. Provide coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback to employees.
  11. Conduct regular inspections of public areas, guest rooms, and equipment to ensure cleanliness and quality.
  12. Supervise laundry operations and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  13. Handle guest complaints and special requests in a professional manner.
  14. Ensure staff is properly trained and equipped to perform job duties.
  15. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department managers.
  16. Assist with deep cleaning projects and support housekeeping staff during peak periods.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  1. Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  2. Previous experience with pre-opening of a hotel is a plus.
  3. Strong understanding of the SLS brand values and culture.
  4. Proven leadership skills with a high level of energy and motivation.
  5. Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in Spanish and English.
  7. Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and guests.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make effective decisions.
  9. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the SLS culture.
  10. Humility and openness to new ideas.
  11. Willingness to try new approaches and take ownership of important issues.
