Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the overall operation of the housekeeping department, including supervising staff and managing third-party companies.
  • Control budget and monthly financial closure of department costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure all departmental service standards and sequences of service are upheld, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Work collaboratively with all housekeeping partners on a day-to-day basis, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Front Office and Engineering Team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing issues promptly and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels, managing cost per room for supplies, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Support in managing day-to-day staffing requirements, including planning, assigning work, and establishing performance and development goals for employees.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve employee performance.
  • Check public areas, guest rooms/suites, equipment, and linens are clean and in good repair, advising team members of areas for improvement.
  • Supervise laundry operations, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Support in handling complaints and special requests and needs of guests, VIPs, and repeat visitors, achieving complete guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department managers.
  • May assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high volume periods, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  • Previous experience with the pre-opening of a hotel is a significant advantage.
  • Someone who understands, celebrates, and embodies the SLS brand values, demonstrating a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.
  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation, a natural at managing and inspiring others in a way that gets the best out of them.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in Spanish and English.
