Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist the Housekeeping Manager in supervising the overall operation of the housekeeping department, including third-party vendors.
  2. Manage the department's budget and ensure timely financial closures.
  3. Ensure all departmental service standards and sequences of service are upheld, providing exceptional guest experiences.
  4. Collaborate with housekeeping partners and other departments, such as Front Office and Engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
  5. Maintain a close relationship with the Front Office and Engineering Team to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  6. Address guest issues promptly and provide excellent customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  7. Manage inventory levels, controlling costs and ensuring proper supply levels for guest rooms and public areas.
  8. Support staffing requirements, including planning, assigning work, and establishing performance goals for employees.
  9. Provide coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback to employees to improve performance and address conflicts.
  10. Conduct regular inspections of public areas, guest rooms, and equipment to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  11. Supervise laundry operations and ensure efficient processing of guest linens.
  12. Handle guest complaints and special requests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  13. Ensure staff is properly trained and equipped to perform their duties, promoting a culture of quality service.
  14. Participate in deep cleaning projects and assist housekeeping staff during high-volume periods.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  2. Previous experience with pre-opening hotel operations is highly desirable.
  3. Strong understanding of the SLS brand values and culture.
  4. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  5. Excellent multitasking, time management, and attention to detail skills.
  6. Fluent in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  8. Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and teams.
  9. Ability to take ownership of issues, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
  10. Willingness to learn and adapt to the SLS culture and operations.
