Assistant Housekeeping Manager

SLS Barcelona, a five-star urban resort, is seeking an experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join its pre-opening team. As a key member of the housekeeping department, you will be responsible for supervising the overall operation of the housekeeping team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in daily operations and department management, including third-party companies.
  • Control budget and monthly financial closure of department costs.
  • Ensure all departmental service standards and sequences of service are upheld.
  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping partners on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Front Office and Engineering Team.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing guest issues and providing prompt correspondence.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and manage cost per room for supplies.
  • Plan, assign work, and establish performance and development goals for employees.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to manage conflict and improve employee performance.
  • Check public areas, guest rooms/suites, equipment, and linens for cleanliness and report areas for improvement.
  • Supervise laundry operations and support in handling complaints and special requests.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  • Previous experience with pre-opening of a hotel is a plus.
  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
