About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in all daily operations and department management, including third-party companies.
  • Control and manage the department's budget and financial closure.
  • Ensure all departmental service standards and sequences of service are upheld.
  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping partners on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Front Office and Engineering Team.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing issues promptly and providing excellent customer service.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and manage cost per room for supplies.
  • Support in managing day-to-day staffing requirements.
  • Plan, assign work, and establish performance and development goals for employees.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to improve employee performance.
  • Check public areas, guest rooms/suites, equipment, and linens for cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Supervise laundry operations.
  • Support in handling complaints and special requests from guests, VIPs, and repeat visitors.
  • Ensure staff is properly trained and equipped to carry out job duties.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department managers.
  • May assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high-volume periods.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  • Previous experience with pre-opening of a hotel is a plus.
  • Someone who understands, celebrates, and embraces the SLS brand values.
  • Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
