Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our pre-opening team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Departmental Leadership: Supervise and manage the housekeeping team to ensure that all departmental service standards and sequences of service are being upheld.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with all housekeeping partners on a day-to-day basis, maintaining a close relationship with the Front Office and Engineering Team.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing guest issues as they arise and providing prompt correspondence if necessary.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels, managing cost per room for supplies.
  • Staff Management: Support in managing day-to-day staffing requirements, plan, assign work and establish performance and development goals for employees. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve employee performance.
  • Quality Control: Check public areas, guest rooms/suites, equipment, linens are clean and in good repair, advising team members of areas of improvements.
  • Complaint Resolution: Support in handling complaints and special requests and needs of the guests, VIPs and repeat visitors to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
  • Training and Development: Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
  • Teamwork and Quality Service: Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department managers.
  • Additional Duties: May assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high volume periods.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel.
  • Pre-Opening Experience: Previous experience with pre-opening of a hotel is a big plus.
  • Brand Values: Someone who understands, celebrates and embraces the SLS brand values.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven team leader with a high level of energy and motivation, a natural at managing and inspiring others in a way that gets the best out of them.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent relationship builder, confident in working with other teams and leaders; you're passionate about what we can achieve together.
