About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona, a five-star urban resort of extraordinary experiences. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating and directing all aspects of the Pastry & Bakery department operation, collaborating with the Food and Beverage team and stakeholders to achieve marketing and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative pastry menus and recipes to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and manage a team of pastry chefs, providing guidance and support to ensure exceptional quality and service standards.
- Collaborate with the Director of Culinary and Executive Chef to drive innovation and excellence in the pastry kitchen.
- Ensure seamless operation of the pastry kitchen, including inventory management, ordering, and requisitions.
- Work closely with Sales & Marketing and Retail Merchandising teams to conceptualize and implement dynamic marketing programs to drive business growth.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Executive Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef in a fast-paced, quality-driven culinary environment.
- Passion for pastry and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of pastry chefs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Extensive pastry technical knowledge and current culinary trends, with a high level of creativity and ability to master chocolate and sugar techniques.
