About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head Baker to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona, a five-star urban resort of extraordinary experiences. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing our overnight Bakery operation and leading a team of Pastry professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the production of high-quality bakery goods, including breads, rolls, baguettes, bun dough, scones, laminate dough, pastry, and cakes.
- Lead a team of Pastry professionals in creating exceptional dining experiences, using authentic methods and techniques, and staying ahead of industry trends.
- Develop and innovate the product range, working closely with our Executive Pastry Chef to create new and exciting menu items.
- Proactively share knowledge and expertise with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Ensure smooth operation, high food hygiene standards, and excellent service preparation.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in Pastry, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel/restaurant.
- Outstanding track record in a high-end quality artisan bakery or luxury hotel environment.
- Passion for Pastry and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and lead by example.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
