About the Role

KWS SAAT SE is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to join our team in the Murcia Region, Spain. This is a full-time and permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new product assortments for Plant Variety Rights holders on local and country levels
  • Implement Crop/PMC Trial plans in line with global crop trial plans
  • Collaborate with local crop teams to provide input on crop strategies and market-customer intelligence
  • Support the development and maintenance of product profiles
  • Advise on and support introduction strategies
  • Ensure the implementation and alignment of trial calendars

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Align with breeders and sales teams on product profiles per Product Market Combination, propose priorities, and focus areas
  • Provide guidance and input to breeding direction and breeding selections
  • Conduct market and competitor intelligence, together with sales teams, to understand trends and drivers
  • Identify unique selling points of new commercial varieties versus competitors and existing portfolios
  • Define growing protocols and growing concepts before commercial launching
  • Implement and support the use of tools like Mercado, etc.
  • Based on the portfolio, the Product Development Manager may have multi-crop and cross-country responsibilities
  • Lead Trial Development Specialists

Performance Indicators:

  • Quality Trial plans, design, and execution
  • Successful introductions
  • Define growing protocols and growing concepts before commercial launching

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a B.S. in Agronomy or Horticulture
  • 3+ years of experience in the vegetable seed industry is preferred
  • Fluent English in word and writing, additional language(s) are an advantage
  • Ability to think and act at different levels, prepared to put 'boots on the ground'
  • Analytical and Result-Oriented 'we make it happen' mentality
