Executive Director of Sales and Marketing for MICE Events in The Americas

Motivated sales professional sought to develop new and existing business opportunities within Marriott International's MICE events portfolio in the Americas. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth, exceed client expectations, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives, working closely with the Director of Sales and other stakeholders
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and preferences to tailor sales approaches accordingly
• Collaborate with the Global Sales Offices (GSOs) to promote Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program and achieve set targets
• Conduct site inspections and familiarization trips at hotels, ensuring alignment with Marriott International guidelines
• Act as liaison with travel partners to encourage business into hotels, fostering partnerships that drive revenue growth
• Plan and deliver presentations on behalf of the hotel or company, highlighting unique value propositions and competitive advantages
• Entertain clients in line with company guidelines and procedures, showcasing exceptional service skills and attention to detail
• Input and record all activities and client listings into the Sales Management System (Opera), maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
• Work alongside the hotel's Events and Diary teams to ensure efficient conversion of all enquiries
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated sales professional with excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Your ability to work independently and collaboratively, think strategically, and adapt to changing circumstances will be essential to success in this role.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably within the hospitality industry
• Strong knowledge of sales strategies, customer service principles, and relationship-building techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to articulate complex ideas effectively
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with sales management systems, such as Opera, an asset
• Estimated salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
