About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled sales leader to join our team at Danfoss as the Head of Global Sales and Business Development for our High Pressure Pumps division. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing and executing business strategies, and leading a team of sales professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Establish and Enforce Sales Targets: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve ambitious sales targets, leveraging Danfoss systems and tools.
  2. Lead and Develop the Sales Organization: Drive and develop the sales and field service organization to achieve sales targets, including cross-selling Danfoss products.
  3. Evolve Sales Approaches and Organizational Structures: Continuously evolve sales and field service approaches and organizational structures to stay ahead of the competition.
  4. Cultivate Customer Relationships: Cultivate and nurture strong customer relationships through the sales and field service teams.
  5. Negotiate Contracts: Negotiate and manage contracts with commercial partners such as agents, distributors, and wholesalers.
  6. Enhance Customer Value: Ensure that field service operations enhance customer value and contribute to increased sales.
  7. Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with Danfoss policies and regulations in all commercial activities.
  8. Contribute to Business Strategy: Actively contribute to the development of the HPP Strategy through profound market understanding.
  9. Lead and Mentor a Team: Lead and mentor a sales team of 35 professionals encompassing Sales, Field Service, and Sales Support.
  10. Optimize Organizational Structure: Optimize the global organizational structure, including regional reporting lines, to maximize efficiency.
  11. Cultivate External Partnerships: Cultivate and manage relationships with external commercial partners and industry stakeholders.
  12. Contribute to Leadership Team: Actively contribute as a key member of the BU Leadership Team.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a technical or commercial discipline, or a Bachelor's degree in a technical field paired with an MBA. You will have over 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years directly engaging with customers. You will have proven leadership skills, including leading teams and navigating complex organizational structures. You will have demonstrated expertise in sales and negotiation, with a focus on driving growth and delivering results. You will have a strong understanding of the pump, water, or related industries, with exposure to diverse cultural environments, particularly in Asia and MEA. You will be expected to travel globally, averaging 50-80 days annually depending on location.
