The Role

We are seeking a Technical Writer who can work with our developers, users, and our open-source community to gather the technical information needed to create and maintain a wide variety of documentation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can take the initiative with minimal supervision, comfortable working independently to gather information from software developers and product management about new features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, revise and publish world-class documentation
  • Build relationships with product and engineering teams and actively participate in Agile teams
  • Be the voice of the customer and become a subject matter expert (SME) developing expertise in your product area(s)
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering on writing best practices and consistent use of taxonomy
  • Write, edit and review product UI components, in-app text strings and error messages
  • Suggest improvements and drive consistency
  • Partner with Celonis Academy, Customer Support and Community teams to create the best self-service experience for customers
  • Improve documentation through feedback analysis, support tickets and interviews
  • Take on additional improvement projects to improve overall documentation quality
Requirements
  • Self-starter who can take the initiative with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working independently to gather information from software developers and product management about new features
  • Prior experience documenting SaaS, client-server, on-premise, and cloud software applications
  • Ability to participate in agile feature team meetings and represent the interests of the tech pubs team
  • Enjoy learning and using new products, testing the documentation you write and becoming an expert user
  • Confident in managing multiple tasks and solving problems in a fast-paced environment to create dynamic content for incremental feature delivery
  • Work closely with customer success to identify opportunities to make the documentation better
