Position Overview

The Strategic Sales Account Executive is responsible for generating new business and expanding existing relationships within designated Strategic Territory accounts to achieve financial and organizational objectives. This role is associated with a specific sales quota, and performance will be evaluated based on the attainment of quarterly and annual targets across a defined set of accounts. You will report to a Territory Hub Sales Manager and collaborate with a diverse sales team, including customer success specialists, partners, technical sales, client services, and marketing, to drive growth within your assigned accounts through new opportunities, cross-selling, and upselling.

This position offers a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and expand existing accounts within a critical list of strategic territory accounts, focusing on delivering long-term value for both customers and the organization.
  • Cultivate relationships and collaborate with other Autodesk sales teams and channel partners to enhance business relationships with assigned clients.
  • Partner with channel partners, technical sales, customer success, marketing, and field sales teams to create account plans for high-priority accounts.
  • Assess customer profiles, develop value messaging, and identify key steps necessary to execute account plans.
  • Build and maintain important relationships within accounts, including key decision-makers, translating customer challenges and opportunities into unique value propositions.
  • Navigate organizational structures at all levels to secure sponsorship, including C-Level executives.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen, proficiency in ROI sales methodologies, and expertise in value selling and positioning.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail, exceptional time management skills, and effective diary/calendar management.
  • Provide accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts of business performance.
  • Collaborate with customer success teams on appropriate sales strategies for renewal business within assigned accounts.
  • Negotiate contracts and deals at various levels within targeted accounts, either independently or in conjunction with channel partners.
  • Establish trust with clients by understanding their needs, setting realistic expectations, and delivering the best possible experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Understanding of sales processes and various selling methodologies, such as TAS, Value Selling, and Solution Selling.
  • Familiarity with sales tracking applications (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to manage challenging situations while maintaining a positive outlook.
  • Experience in inside sales or office-based sales roles.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple concurrent sales cycles effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of sales skills through on-the-job coaching and self-directed learning.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of customers.
  • Ideally, 4+ years of relevant experience.
