Job Description

The Assistant Director of Sales is a key role within the hotel's sales team, responsible for supporting the Director of Sales and Marketing in achieving the hotel's sales and revenue objectives.

This role requires an individual with exceptional leadership skills, sales acumen, and a deep understanding of the luxury hotel market.

The Assistant Director of Sales will manage key accounts, develop sales strategies, and work collaboratively with the sales team to increase market share.

This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and building long-term client relationships to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Identify new business opportunities, maintain a prospect pipeline, and conduct presentations and negotiations to close deals.
  • Lead, coach, and support the sales team, ensuring they meet individual and team targets while assisting in recruitment, training, and performance enhancement.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Events, Operations, and Revenue Management teams to align sales efforts and pricing strategies with overall business goals.
  • Prepare sales reports, track KPIs, adjust strategies, and provide insights to senior management to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the property and generate leads.
  • Organise and participate in sales trips, client meetings, and promotional activities to enhance the hotel's visibility and attract new business.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial role.

Proficiency in hotel management and CRM software is required, as well as strong knowledge of sales techniques, market analysis, and customer relationship management.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong leadership and team management abilities, strategic thinking with a focus on achieving results, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders are essential for this role.
