Head of Platform Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Platform Engineering to join our team at Stuart. As a key member of our Engineering Leadership Team, you will be responsible for leading our Platform Engineering department and driving the development of our cloud platform.
Key Responsibilities- Define the Platform Engineering Vision and Strategy: Develop and implement a clear vision and strategy for the Platform Engineering department, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Lead Platform Engineering Teams: Manage and lead a team of technical engineers and managers, providing guidance and direction to ensure the successful delivery of projects and initiatives.
- Drive Cloud Platform Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy cloud-based platforms and services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering teams, product managers, and business leaders, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Manage Remote Teams: Lead and manage remote teams in European and near-shore locations, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and productivity.
- Develop and Implement FinOps Strategy: Build on our existing FinOps strategy to continue to deliver cloud efficiencies and cost savings.
- Execute Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews and create growth opportunities for team members, ensuring their continued development and success.
- Strong Technical Background: Proven experience in cloud computing (AWS) and SRE, with a strong understanding of software development and engineering principles.
- Leadership Experience: Experience leading Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams, with a track record of success in managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to executive-level audiences and interact with senior leaders.
- Product Mindset: A product mindset to build an internal developer platform, with a focus on delivering value to customers and stakeholders.
- Comfortable with Change: Comfortable with change and ambiguity, with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities and requirements.
