About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Platform Engineering team. As the Head of Platform Engineering, you will be responsible for defining the vision and strategy for our platform, working closely with stakeholders to create a roadmap for delivery, and adding value to our developers' lives by growing the platform's features.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the Platform Engineering vision and strategy
- Work with stakeholders to create a roadmap for delivery
- Add value to developers' lives by growing the platform's features
- Engage with peers in other engineering units to promote adoption of new features
- Provide tools to increase reliability, availability, and scalability
- Build on existing FinOps strategy to deliver cloud efficiencies
- Manage remote teams in European and near-shore locations
- Create a healthy and cooperative environment within teams
- Execute performance reviews and create growth opportunities
- Attend the Barcelona office 2-3 days a week
- Be part of the Engineering Leadership Team driving the engineering function
Requirements
- Strong technical background in cloud computing (AWS) and SRE
- Experience leading Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams
- Good knowledge and experience with software development
- Experience managing technical Engineering Managers
- Capacity to run a department with several teams, composed of hybrid and remote members
- Product mindset to build an internal developer platform
- Ideal knowledge of Data Platform Engineering
- Comfortable presenting to ExCo and interacting with senior leaders
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English
