The Role

The Head of Platform Engineering (HoPE) reports directly to the CTO and will directly manage other managers in the platform engineering department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the Platform Engineering (PE) vision and strategy
  • Work with your teams and stakeholders to create the PE roadmap and commit to its delivery
  • Add value to our developers' lives by growing the Platform's features
  • Engage with your peers in other engineering units under the CTO to promote adoption of the new features in the common platform
  • Provide the tools that increase Stuart's reliability, availability and scalability
  • Build on the existing FinOps strategy to continue to deliver cloud efficiencies
  • Manage remote teams in European and near-shore locations
  • Create a healthy and cooperative environment within your teams
  • Execute performance reviews and create growth opportunities for your people
Requirements
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to drive technical vision and strategy
  • Experience in managing remote teams
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms and FinOps
