Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Platform Engineering to join our team at Stuart. As a key member of our Engineering Leadership Team, you will be responsible for defining the Platform Engineering vision and strategy, working with cross-functional teams to create and deliver the PE roadmap, and adding value to our developers' lives by growing the Platform's features.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the Platform Engineering vision and strategy, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, and Operations, to create and deliver the PE roadmap.
- Add value to our developers' lives by growing the Platform's features, improving efficiency, and increasing scalability.
- Engage with peers in other engineering units to promote adoption of new features and tools.
- Build and manage a high-performing team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for growth and development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize platform engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of cloud computing, SRE, and DevOps practices, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
Requirements
- Strong technical background in cloud computing (AWS) and SRE.
- Experience leading Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE teams.
- Good knowledge and experience with software development, including Agile methodologies.
- Ability to run a department with several teams, composed of both hybrid and remote team members.
- Product mindset to build an internal developer platform.
- Comfortable presenting to executive-level stakeholders and interacting with senior leaders.
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
