Assistant Vice President, European Corporates, Private Credit

Morningstar DBRS' Private Credit team is seeking a highly motivated individual with four to five years of experience in corporate credit analysis, preferably with high-yield issuers, and strong analytical and interpersonal skills to join its team as an Assistant Vice President.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume surveillance coverage of a portfolio of small to medium-sized companies with high leverage, providing in-depth analysis and recommendations to support credit decisions.
- Perform fundamental financial analysis and prepare comprehensive rating committee packages, including detailed credit assessments and market research.
- Lead rating committee discussions, presenting complex credit analysis and market insights to inform credit decisions.
- Build and maintain relationships with market participants, such as lenders, investors, and bankers, to stay informed about market trends and credit developments.
- Organize and track a large portfolio of credits, refining work processes and implementing efficient credit management practices.
- Build and update related databases as required, ensuring accurate and up-to-date credit information.
- Produce timely, high-quality, and insightful credit analysis and research, providing valuable insights to support credit decisions.
Requirements:
- Four to five years of experience in credit analysis or corporate lending, with a strong understanding of credit analysis and capital markets.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or another relevant discipline, with a preference for completion of the CFA program.
- Excellent knowledge of credit analysis and capital markets, preferably combined with a sound understanding of high-yield/middle-market credits.
- Familiarity with the legal documentation associated with corporate debt issuance.
- Strong analytical skills with thorough knowledge of financial statements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex credit analysis and market insights to inform credit decisions.
- Self-starter and team player with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
