About the Role

The database market is massive, and MongoDB is at the forefront of its disruption. We are seeking a Senior Sales Strategy & Planning Analyst to join our Strategy and Planning team, part of our broader Sales Operations team. This function acts as business partners to our Senior Sales Leaders, and your responsibilities will range across a variety of strategic initiatives including:

  1. Analyzing inefficient business rules and processes
  2. Piloting new sales roles and strategies
  3. Optimizing for obstacles in the sales process
  4. Analyzing sales data to come up with meaningful business insights

You will be responsible for learning the ins and outs of each major MongoDB Sales Business, playing a critical role in building relationships with the senior leadership team and driving forward initiatives that will help us unlock sales revenue. The ideal candidate understands what makes a Sales team thrive, has a strong interest in data analysis to tell stories, and thrives in shaping narratives that are conducive to helping our Sales team grow.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Sales Strategy & Planning Analyst, you will:

  1. Help drive the analytical rhythm of our business, including quarterly business reviews and organizational deep dives
  2. Partner with Senior Sales leadership to drive market and segment-specific analyses to uncover insights
  3. Become an expert in business and compensation rules to fully understand how Sales operates
  4. Conceptualize and pilot new programs to test the effectiveness of various sales roles and compensation plans
  5. Participate in quarterly and annual business planning for the Sales teams
  6. Collaborate with various business units to drive productivity and headcount scenario analyses
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree with a quantitative focus (Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.)
  2. 5+ years of work experience in either Sales Strategy / Consulting / Sales Operations / Analytics
  3. Effective communication skills to break down complex technical concepts into simple business vernacular
  4. Ability to write SQL queries to extract data needed for analysis
  5. Experience with at least one major business intelligence tool (Tableau, Google Data Studio, Looker)
  6. Familiarity with databases and the differences between relational and non-relational databases
  7. Ability to navigate Salesforce with relative ease
