Business Development Manager for IOL/Ophthalmology Market

Ophtec Bv is a growing international high-tech family business based in Groningen, Netherlands, with subsidiaries in 7 other countries. We develop and produce intraocular lenses and sell them to ophthalmologists at the highest possible level.
LIO Ophtec España, S.L, based in Madrid, markets our lenses and instruments through our team of Account managers located throughout Spain. We have a major growth and development ambition that we are working on together through a strategic program.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in Spain. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and developing successful sales strategies in the IOL/Ophthalmology market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve business objectives and revenue targets
- Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure the results of the Spanish Subsidiary
- Manage, motivate, and develop a team of Account Managers and Independent Sales Reps
- Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and new distribution opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with important opinion leaders and strategic partners in the ophthalmic field
- Regular travel within your region (and occasionally abroad) is necessary to provide guidance, support, and maintain strong relationships with local account managers and customers
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of the IOL/Ophthalmology market
- Proven success in driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and developing successful sales strategies
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing sales teams
- Strong negotiation skills, highly motivated, sees opportunities, and knows how to utilize them
- Good knowledge of the English language (speaking and writing)
- P&L responsibility
