Key Responsibilities:

Develop electrical simulation models for Wind Turbines and Wind Farms, focusing on Electromagnetic Transient models with advanced features. Integrate dynamic link libraries (DLLs) or automatically generated code into simulation tools. Evaluate model performance and analyze results, providing insights to other teams. Assess model capabilities in relation to Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) specifications. Conduct analysis of modeling issues and document findings through design reports and validation documentation. Create automation tools to facilitate simulation runs and generate reports seamlessly.

Required Technical Expertise:

Power System Engineering:

Knowledge of transmission and distribution networks. Familiarity with grid components such as power transformers, cables, and reactive power compensation devices. Understanding of power electronics and electrical machines. Proficiency in harmonics analysis.

Power System Studies:

Experience in transient stability studies, particularly LVRT and OVRT. Expertise in Electromagnetic Transients (EMT) simulation. Conduct dynamic studies related to grid events and power plant adjustments. Model control and electrical systems effectively. Analyze small signal stability within power systems.

Software Skills:

Proficient in PSCAD, with knowledge of Fortran compilers and compatibility issues. Ability to create and integrate compiled code (DLLs) into simulation tools for advanced functionalities. Experience with Fortran and C programming languages. Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink. Knowledge of RSCAD software for Real-Time Digital Simulation.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing PSCAD models. A degree (B.Sc, M.Sc, or PhD) in electrical or power systems engineering. Experience with wind power plants or renewable energy systems requiring coordinated control of multiple components. Knowledge of algorithms for controlling power plants, especially in wind energy and hybrid systems.

Additional Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Self-driven with a proactive approach to solving intricate technical challenges. A collaborative team player who thrives in a diverse, multicultural environment and possesses fluency in English.
