Position Overview

We are seeking a Power System Engineer to become a vital part of our Grid Connection department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create electrical simulation models for Wind Turbines and Wind Farms using Electromagnetic Transient models, incorporating advanced features.
  • Design and implement control algorithms for converters to meet grid requirements.
  • Integrate dynamic link libraries (DLLs) or automatically generated code into simulations.
  • Evaluate model performance and analyze results, providing insights to various departments.
  • Validate model performance against Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) capabilities.
  • Investigate and resolve modeling issues.
  • Document processes, including design reports, validation reports, and user manuals.
  • Develop automation tools to streamline simulations and report generation.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing PSCAD models or creating new converter control algorithms.
  • Background in Grid Connection with knowledge of grid code requirements.
  • Expertise in Power System engineering, including:
    • Transmission and distribution networks.
    • Understanding of grid components such as transformers, cables, and reactive power devices.
    • Knowledge of power electronics and electrical machines.
    • Proficiency in harmonics analysis and transient stability.
    • Experience with electromagnetic transients simulation and dynamic studies.
    • Familiarity with PSCAD, including Fortran compilers and encryption techniques.
    • Skills in Fortran, C programming, MATLAB, and Simulink.
    • Experience with RSCAD (Real Time Digital Simulator).
