About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Simulation Engineer to join our team at Nordex Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing electrical simulation models in various simulation tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Representing the transient and steady state electrical characteristics of the Nordex product portfolio within power system studies.
- Development and optimization of electrical simulation models in tools such as PSCAD, DigSilent PF, Matlab/Simulink, and Siemens PSS/E.
- Parametrisation and maintaining simulation models over the whole product life cycle.
- Performing various kinds of simulation studies on Wind Power Plants, including stability and harmonic studies, and presenting results in reports.
- Optimising Grid Code Compliance within electrical studies.
- Benchmarking and validation of developed simulation models.
- Investigating and analysing wind turbine functions/features in relation to connected grid systems.
- Feeding back experience to product development based on practical Grid Code Compliance knowledge.
- Optimising model development and electrical study processes through automation.
- Model testing and quality assurance.
Requirements
- M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or similar.
- Experience with EMT and RMS modelling and simulation in at least one simulation software like PSCAD, PSS/E, DigSIlent Powerfactory.
- Programming experience in Python, Fortran, or C/C++.
- Experience with Grid Code requirements.
- Self-responsible, structured, customer and solution-oriented working mindset.
- Intercultural understanding and ability to work collaboratively with teams across functions and geographies.
- Fluent English spoken and written. Spanish and/or German is a plus.
- Good communication skills.
- Proactive, assertive, and team player.
