Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Simulation Engineer at Nordex Group, you will be responsible for representing the transient and steady-state electrical characteristics of our product portfolio within power system studies. This involves developing and optimizing electrical simulation models in a variety of tools, including PSCAD, DigSilent PF, Matlab/Simulink, and Siemens PSS/E.

Key Tasks
  • Develop and optimize electrical simulation models in various simulation tools.
  • Represent the transient and steady-state electrical characteristics of our product portfolio within power system studies.
  • Parametrize and maintain simulation models over the entire product life cycle.
  • Perform various simulation studies on wind power plants, including stability and harmonic studies.
  • Optimize grid code compliance within electrical studies.
  • Benchmark and validate developed simulation models.
  • Analyze wind turbine functions and features in relation to connected grid systems.
  • Feed back experience to product development based on practical grid code compliance knowledge.
  • Optimize model development and electrical study processes through automation.
  • Test and quality assure models.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or equivalent.
  • Experience with EMT and RMS modeling and simulation in at least one simulation software, such as PSCAD, PSS/E, or DigSilent Powerfactory.
  • Programming experience in Python, Fortran, or C/C++.
  • Experience with grid code requirements.
  • A self-responsible, structured, customer-oriented, and solution-focused working mindset.
  • Intercultural understanding and a willingness to work collaboratively with teams across functions and geographies.
  • Fluent English, with Spanish and/or German a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A proactive, assertive, and team-oriented approach.
