Role Overview
We are currently seeking a Power System Engineer to enhance our Grid Connection department.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and refine electrical simulation models for Wind Turbines and Wind Farms using Electromagnetic Transient models with advanced features.
- Design and implement converter control algorithms tailored for grid functionalities.
- Integrate dynamic link libraries (DLLs) or automatically generated code into simulation frameworks.
- Evaluate model performance and analyze results, providing insights to cross-functional teams.
- Conduct assessments of model performance in relation to Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) capabilities.
- Investigate and resolve modeling issues effectively.
- Document all activities, including design reports, validation reports, and user manuals.
- Develop automation tools to facilitate simulation runs and report generation.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing PSCAD models or creating new converter control algorithms.
- Strong background in Grid Connection, with familiarity in grid code requirements.
- Expertise in Power System engineering, including:
- Transmission and distribution networks.
- Grid components such as power transformers, cables, and reactive power compensation devices.
- Power electronics and electrical machines.
- Harmonics analysis and transient stability, particularly LVRT and OVRT.
- Electromagnetic transient simulations (EMT) and dynamic studies.
- Simulation and modeling of control and electrical systems.
- Small Signal Stability analysis of power systems.
- Proficiency in PSCAD, including knowledge of Fortran compilers and encryption techniques.
- Experience in creating and integrating compiled code (DLLs) into simulation tools for advanced functionalities.
- Programming skills in Fortran and C, as well as familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink.
- Knowledge of RSCAD software for Real Time Digital Simulation.
