About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Process Control Engineer to join our team at Rockwell Automation. As a key member of our custom application delivery teams, you will be responsible for designing and implementing online applications that improve our customers' manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess customer processes and develop mathematical models to predict system behavior
  • Configure online applications that use this knowledge to calculate process setpoints and dynamically control product quality, production capacity, and energy usage
  • Lead the technical implementation of projects from preliminary design through commissioning and customer acceptance
  • Support hardware installation and system integration
  • Identify technical issues that impact project performance and provide solutions
  • Provide project information related to cost performance and technical documentation
  • Lead advanced analytics projects and mentor less experienced engineers
  • Provide product, engineering, and application support to existing customers
  • Perform system and application health checks, performance analyses, and develop reports
  • Support sales activities and participate in sales closure
  • Request and undertake professional development to remain billable and cost-effective
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or other engineering with a focus on modeling, statistics, or process control
  • Strong interest in automation, process control, and advanced model-predictive applications
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience in leading complex projects in a process industry
  • Experience with instrumentation, industrial control systems, and supervisory control applications
  • Experience with advanced process control implementation or business case development
  • Familiarity with DCS (SCADA, HMI, etc.) and/or PLC configuration
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and comply with customer safety and health requirements
Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience implementing advanced control solutions in a process manufacturing environment
  • Experience in leading complex projects
  • Experience with industrial computing, networking, OPC, and ODBC/SQL data communications
  • Experience with DCS (SCADA, HMI, etc.) and/or PLC configuration, especially in the context of integration with external applications
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation or competitive model predictive control products
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation or competitive predictive emissions monitoring systems
