Rockwell Automation is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Process Control Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our custom application delivery team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced process control solutions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mathematical models to predict system behavior and configure online applications to improve process efficiency.
- Assess customer processes and develop customized solutions to optimize production capacity, energy usage, and product quality.
- Lead complex projects from preliminary design through commissioning and customer acceptance.
- Support hardware installation and system integration, and provide technical project activities as assigned by the Regional Technical Manager.
- Identify and address technical issues that impact project performance, and provide project information related to cost performance and performance guarantees.
- Develop and maintain best practices for application development, and provide product, engineering, and application support to existing customers.
- Participate in sales closure activities and support Solution Consultant market development activities.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or other engineering with a focus on modeling, statistics, or process control.
- Strong interest in automation, process control, and advanced model-predictive applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in leading complex projects in a process industry, and with instrumentation, industrial control systems, and supervisory control applications.
- Familiarity with DCS (SCADA, HMI, etc.) and/or PLC configuration.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, and willingness to comply with customer safety and health requirements.
- 3+ years of experience implementing advanced control solutions in a process manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading complex projects, and with industrial computing, networking, OPC, and ODBC/SQL data communications.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation or competitive model predictive control products, and predictive emissions monitoring systems.
