We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Process Control Engineer to join our team at Rockwell Automation. As a key member of our custom application delivery team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced process control solutions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Project Implementation: Perform technical project activities, including design, system integration, installation, data analysis, and application development, as assigned by the Regional Technical Manager.
- Technical Issue Identification: Identify technical issues that impact project performance and notify the Regional Technical Manager.
- Project Monitoring: Provide the Regional Technical Manager with project information related to cost performance against plan, performance guarantee status, and other relevant metrics.
- Best Practices Documentation: Support the Regional Technical Manager in documenting best practices for use in the development of applications.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Lead advanced analytics projects and provide mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Product Support: Provide product, engineering, and application support to existing customers.
- System Health Checks: Perform periodical system and application health checks, performance analyses, and develop reports to document findings and recommendations.
- Sales Support: Support Solution Consultants in market development activities and participate in sales closure activities as requested by the Regional Delivery Manager.
- Professional Development: Request and undertake professional development as required to remain billable and cost-effective.
- Project Staffing: Support the project staffing process to maximize overall delivery department margin.
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field with a strong focus on modeling, statistics, or process control. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading complex projects in a process industry, as well as experience with instrumentation, industrial control systems, and supervisory control applications. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with DCS (SCADA, HMI, etc.) and/or PLC configuration.
Desired QualificationsPreferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience in implementing advanced control solutions in a process manufacturing environment, experience in leading complex projects, and a degree in chemical engineering or a related field with a strong focus on modeling, statistics, or process control. The candidate should also have experience with industrial computing, networking, OPC, and ODBC/SQL data communications, as well as experience with DCS (SCADA, HMI, etc.) and/or PLC configuration, especially in the context of integration with external applications.
