Sales Operations Manager - Strategic Initiatives

The global sales operations division at Expedia Group is in search of a Sales Operations Manager who will enhance the productivity and effectiveness of our sales teams. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to assess, refine, and implement our sales methodologies.

Your Responsibilities:

Take ownership of the sales process elements ('the what') within the Sales Blueprint by:

  • Evaluating the sales cycle and processes to ensure they align with organizational needs and prioritize our partners in decision-making.
  • Streamlining sales workflows by proactively suggesting new methodologies, emphasizing automation, and sharing industry best practices.
  • Identifying challenges and proposing actionable solutions to enhance sales team efficiency.
  • Analyzing performance data and utilizing key metrics along with stakeholder insights to assess effectiveness and pinpoint areas for sales process enhancement.
  • Promoting adherence to the principles outlined in the Sales Blueprint.
  • Establishing a regular review cycle to update the sales process in response to business developments, insights, and feedback, ensuring the Blueprint remains relevant in our dynamic environment.
  • Updating documentation and ensuring consistent communication regarding changes.
  • Supporting the process for managing our lowest tier of unmanaged accounts.
  • Assisting with sales compliance initiatives.
  • Reviewing and implementing documentation for sales process exceptions.
  • Providing support for various ad-hoc projects as needed.

Who You Are:

  • Proven experience in sales operations and process enhancement within a B2B context, preferably in the travel sector (Six Sigma certification or similar is advantageous).
  • A mindset that aligns with sales perspectives, understanding the B2B sales landscape and its associated challenges and opportunities.
  • Exceptional ability to distill complex operations and data into clear communication for leaders at all organizational levels.
  • Knowledgeable in developing project plans, establishing timelines, and prioritizing tasks to meet project goals.
  • Capable of identifying necessary resources for project support and making informed recommendations regarding personnel, technology, and partnerships.
  • Committed to monitoring progress to ensure project milestones, timelines, specifications, and requirements are met.
  • Driven to set high standards for goals, ideas, and initiatives, finding fulfillment in their execution.
  • Skilled in influencing and building consensus among internal teams.
  • A collaborative individual who can work across multiple functions and quickly establish rapport.
  • Motivated to understand and execute both the broader vision and the specific tasks required.
  • Experienced in navigating a large matrix organization with a fast-paced work environment.
  • Capable of managing complexity and competing priorities effectively.
