Business Development Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and solutions-focused Sales Engineer to support business development and the sale of Original Equipment. In this role, you will collaborate with internal departments to ensure that customer requirements are met with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional technical support to customers, ensuring their needs are met with accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyse specifications and utilise simulation software to select the most suitable equipment for customer applications, driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed and competitive Original Equipment quotations and bids, leveraging industry knowledge and expertise.
- Oversee order fulfilment requirements to ensure timely and accurate delivery, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Travel to key accounts to identify and develop new business opportunities, fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Support aftermarket sales through site visits and collaboration with other departments, driving revenue growth and customer loyalty.
- Conduct engaging product presentations and training sessions to educate clients, promoting Weir's products and services.
- Cultivate a deep understanding of Weir's products and services, staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
- Represent Weir Minerals at industry exhibitions and trade shows to showcase our offerings, promoting business growth and brand awareness.
- Demonstrate unwavering commitment to our zero harm behaviors, contributing to the development of a world-class safety culture.
Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining, Industrial, Civil Engineering or equivalent, with a strong foundation in business principles and practices.
- Proven experience in the mining industry, particularly in customer-facing roles, with a track record of driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 60% of the time, to support business development and customer engagement.
