About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to join our team at QBE Insurance Group. As an Underwriting Assistant, you will provide technical and administrative support to our underwriting team, ensuring the efficient and effective processing of insurance risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the evaluation and assessment of insurance risks to ensure accurate and timely underwriting decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of underwriting standards and good practices to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely communication of underwriting data and information.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports to support underwriting decisions and business planning.
  • Support the production of management information statistics and reports to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in an underwriting assistant role or similar position in the insurance industry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
