About the Role

We are seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our team at QBE. As an Underwriting Assistant, you will provide technical and administrative support to our underwriting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of underwriting reports and documents.
  • Conduct research and gather data to support underwriting decisions.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate data is captured on systems to minimize risk and ensure high quality output of information.
  • Prepare documents to ensure that appropriate records are established and accuracy of records is maintained.
  • Support underwriting through general administration.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver superior service standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience in an underwriting assistant role.Good organization skills with the ability to work to deadlines.A team player with great communication skills.Commercially aware.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.Flexible approach and ability to recognize and adapt to changing business requirements.Accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of class specific underwriting knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of defined process standards.
  • Experience in an insurance environment.
