This position can be based either in Madrid or in Germany (multiple locations).

As an Account Manager in our Pioneering Public Sector team, you will have the exciting opportunity to help support the growth and shape the future of a group of cloud technologies at Amazon Web Services.

You will be responsible for supporting and managing a dedicated Public Sector Enterprise Territory by identifying demand for AWS services in both new and existing customers in Germany. Your goal will be to support the AWS business by managing inbound leads, conducting outbound calls, opportunity discovery, account management, pipeline maturation and closing.

You possess both a business and technical background that enables them to engage an account at the CxO level as well as with software developers and IT architects. He/she should also be a self-starter able to plan, develop and execute account plans in their respective customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Propose and execute against account plans (Enterprise customers).
  • Manage key customer relationships, prospecting, and pipeline for your assigned customers.
  • New customer acquisition by cold calling.
  • Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services for different audiences and stakeholder levels (CxO)
  • Collaborate with AWS Partners, Marketing, Business Development and other functions on key initiatives in assigned territory.
  • Present regular and accurate reports for management to review.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for program improvement on a regular basis.

Basic Qualifications

  • College/University Degree or equivalent military or professional experience
  • Relevant technology related sales, business development or sales engineering/consulting experience in the German Public Sector.
  • Self-starter with highly developed interpersonal skills, decisive and result oriented
  • Professional business level of written and spoken English and German
  • Interest in Cloud technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer Science and/or Engineering/Math background.
  • Account management experience in the IT industry and experience managing Public Sector customers.
  • Working knowledge of software development practices and data center/infrastructure/networking technologies
