The Compensation and Benefits Manager will be a member of Colleague Total Rewards and Wellbeing (CTRW) and Colleague Experience Group (CEG) teams in Spain. This role is responsible for the strategy, implementation, and delivery of colleague benefits in Spain and other markets in EMEA, as well for the market-level implementation of global compensation programs. The individual will report to Director, Compensation & Benefits, EMEA.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Strategy, implementation, and ongoing management of core colleague benefits programs such as pensions and insurance.
  • Own and manage relationships with external benefits vendors, in line with American Express vendor governance requirements.
  • Compensation subject matter expert supporting market HR and business leaders in strategic decisions on compensation, aligned to American Express global compensation philosophy and programs.
  • Responsible for compensation-related inputs to local reporting requirements such as Non-Financial Statement and Pay Registry.
  • Support delivery of wellbeing and recognition priorities in the market, in partnership with global program leads.
  • Compliance with all regulatory frameworks and American Express protocols, procedure, policies, and audit requirements.
  • Partnership with Compensation and Benefit Operations, Medical, Talent Acquisition and market HR teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of compensation and benefits initiatives in the market.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Ability to manage third party advisers and vendors
  • Growth mindset, exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills, ability to prioritize and work autonomously with multiple stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical skills in both compensation and benefits delivery
  • Demonstrated understanding of the drivers of compensation and benefit program changes in current market environment
